Join Oxford University International Relations Society and Dr Andrew Payne (City St George's, London) for a discussion on how Trump’s freewheeling diplomacy during this transition might become recipe for chaos. Dr Payne is a Lecturer in Foreign Policy and Security at City St George's, University of London, and a Research Associate at the University of Oxford, where he was previously the Hedley Bull Research Fellow in International Relations. His research examines the politics of U.S. foreign policy. His first book, War on the Ballot: How the Election Cycle Shapes Presidential Decision-Making in War, was published by Columbia University Press in 2023. In addition to his academic work, he is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Institute for Global Affairs and serves on the board of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House).
